Sound healing, also known as sound therapy or vibrational medicine, is a practice that uses sound vibrations to promote relaxation and healing. It involves using instruments like tuning forks, gongs, and singing bowls to create calming soundscapes

Sound healing is an alternative therapy that uses sound vibrations to improve physical and mental health. Some benefits of sound healing include: 

  • Improved clarity: Sound healing can help improve clarity and make you more resilient. 

  • Whole-brain state: Sound healing can help you access a whole-brain state, which can help you think more clearly and creatively. 

  • Increased heart rate variability: Sound therapy can increase heart rate variability (HRV), which can signal your adaptability. 

  • Stress reduction: Sound healing can reduce stress and anxiety. 

  • Improved sleep: Sound healing can promote relaxation and reduce racing thoughts, which can help with sleep disorders. 

  • Pain management: Sound healing can help with pain management. 

  • Lower blood pressure and cholesterol: Sound healing can help lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels. 

  • Decreased risk of heart disease: Sound healing can decrease the risk of heart disease and strokes. â€‹

  • Sound healing works by channelling the power of sound vibrations to create a healing environment where the body and mind can heal itself.

What to expect during a sound healing session

Sound Baths

A sound bath is a meditative experience that involves lying down and listening to a variety of instruments to create a relaxing and immersive soundscape. You can expect to: 

  • Be greeted in a welcoming environment - The space will be set up with mats, cushions, and blankets, and may have gentle lighting or aromatherapy. 

  • Begin with a guided breathing exercise I will ask you to focus on your breath for a few minutes to help you relax. 

  • Listen to a variety of instruments I will play instruments like gongs, singing bowls, tuning forks, chimes, and shruti boxes to create different sounds and vibrations. 

  • Have a personal experience, some people may easily enter a meditative state, while others may focus on the physical sensations of the sound waves. Some people may feel joy, sadness, or peace, while others may feel very little. 

  • Reflect and rehydrate - After the sound bath, there may be a time for reflection or sharing. You must also rehydrate, as sound therapy  release toxins from the body. 

  • After your session, I will always be available to discuss anything that came up for your during the sound bath.

1:1 Sound therapy

Before a 1:1 session I will have a consultation with you, where we will discuss your goals and then I will creates a "sonic prescription" for you.

During a one-on-one sound healing session, you can expect to: 

  • Relax: You'll likely feel deeply relaxed and well-rested. 

  • Listen to sounds: You'll listen to music or sounds from healing instruments, such as gongs, singing bowls, tuning forks, and chimes. 

  • Experience vibrations: You may receive healing vibrations on and around your body. 

  • Engage with me, depending on the method you prefer, I may  encourage you to sing, move, or use a musical instrument. 

  • Have a variety of experiences: You might see sacred geometric shapes or colours, have visions, or feel like time slows down or speeds up. 

  • Feel a range of emotions: You might feel happy, angry, sad, or upset about thoughts or memories that come up. Crying is also fine and can be cathartic. 

  • Let go: It can take about 10–15 minutes to begin to let go.
